Growstones are manufactured using up to 98% waste materials. They replace strip-mined rocks like pumice and perlite, reducing environmental degradation. Getting Started

Nothing is more important to successful growing  than soil. Its condition and health can determine the condition of your plants. Growstones Super Soil Aerator helps soil breath making it less dense, less clumpy and more workable.

Directions

1. For first time use, rinse by submerging Growstones in a bucket of water.

2. Mix one part Growstones with 2-4 parts sphagnum peat moss, coco-peat or composted soil. Place the Growstones planting mix in your gardening container or bed.

3. Transplant by carefully setting the roots of your plant in a hole large enough to contain them. Cover the plants roots with Growstones planting mix, pressing gently with your hands. This will create good contact between the roots and their new environment. Water immediately after transplanting.  

4. Continue to irrigate regularly as needed.

Growstones was developed to enhance a wide variety of plants. For increased drainage, use more Growstones and for increased water retention, use more sphagnum peat moss or coco-peat when creating your Growstones planting mix.

How To Reuse Growstones

To reuse the Growstones mix in a second crop, remove old plant material from the container; shake roots vigorously to free as much Growstones mix attached to roots as possible. Replenish container with new Growstones mix. Transplant the new crop by simply repeating steps 2 and 3.

Notes For Beginning Gardeners

Water and oxygen are essential for plant health. A plant, much like a human, is mostly water and needs ample oxygen. Roots supply water and oxygen to plants. In fact, up to 98% of the oxygen a plant uses comes through its roots.

Since both water and air (oxygen) move in, through and out of soil, water retention, drainage, and aeration are important considerations in any potting mix. The use of Growstones significantly increases air spaces, improving oxygen levels. It also helps store and move water through the soil.

If the soil is poorly drained or tightly packed due to fine particles, oxygen is cut off from the roots, reducing plant growth. Growstones help keep soil loose and aerated.

Whenever a plant is watered, air is forced out. In a loose, porous planting mix, as water drains out, fresh air is drawn in and ready to be used by roots. Growstones enhance the porosity of the planting mix, helping plants get the balance of air and water needed for vigorous growth.
